Martda`s Country Bakery in Astoria

I came here today with my mother and had a terrible experience. We were on line waiting then this female employee asked us to step further back. We complied to her instructions but she didn't just have us go six feet back but 12 feet around the corner and she continued to tell us to go futher. I was very offended and i cussed at her. I was wrong for that but she was in the wrong how she treated me and my mother. We were the only 2 asians customers in the bakery and we were the only ones asked to stepped so far away. There were 4 other customers in front of us that did not receive such racist treatment. I dont understand the logic where we had to wait because it was literally past the door and people were walking in and skipping us. They should have someone at the door if they want to enforce this rule. I am never coming back to this racist bakery again.

Customer service was disappointing. It was the first time I've ever went to a Martha store and hence got confused by the huge array of desserts. Staff weren't that helpful and seemed like they just wanted you to get done with ordering and move away. The desserts are delicious. However, cheesecake and the bread pudding was beyond average. The place can get busy! so I'm hoping the lacking customer service was just a busy-day one time thing?🤷🏻‍♀️

Doing great on crowd control to protect the staff and public! Expect a bit of a line. Love the Napoleons and gelatos!

Carrot cake was to die for. And we got one vegan and one normal slice for us to both enjoy. Great selection of cakes, cookies and pastries 🤩

Just walked in to get a vegan cheesecake but then I saw a worker have a mask on BUT wearing it improperly!! What’s the point of wearing a mask if you’re not going to cover your mouth AND NOSE with it?? I immediately walked out and left. Not trying to get corona at all but definitely not from a pastry!!! Please wear your masks properly people!!

Good service. Always very busy.This place only offers dessert type foods (hot and cold).This is definitely a trendy spot in the Astoria - Long Island City region.Definitely a must see if you like good desserts options for summer and winter.

Stop by for some quick sweets. Ooh boy! I ordered Tiramisu and it was smooth creamy and just right!Good thing I bought 2. Ate one on the way home and saving the other for my sweetie. Let's see if the 2nd piece makes it home or into my belly 1st..lol

Everything here is so good. Always has been fresh whenever I ordered something, whether for dine-in or take away. Amazing bakery.

You like sweetness... well you got it. Call for spots to seat if you want to go with someone or alone. Take out is always fast but keep in mind that this is a well known bakery, you will be probably the "next" in line. Enjoy. New favorite napoleon! Not too sweet. Affogato a must try also perfect blend of strong espresso and ice cream. Loved the napoleon so much ordered another to go.

Martha's Country Bakery, what a perfect experience!!!Doesn't really matter what is going on outside, once you cross those doors you are in a real "Country Bakery", you can feel the coziness of the perfectly achieved decor, the kindness an great trained personnel an ofcourse the magnificent treats that you can taste and enjoy in a relaxing environment.Every time you visit the place you will find nothing but perfection, the prices??? Well more than fair for the quality of food and beverages you will receive... ...enjoy!!!

I absolutely love this bakery . My son picked his favorite chocolate mousse cake absolutely delicious and moist. The staff was very helpful. Definitely worth the money.

Loved the Nutella banana creme brûlée ! It’s a decent size too. Last time I ordered the tiramisu, which was really good, but thought it was so small in comparison to what you’re paying but the creme brûlée is worth every penny. The 7 layer cake was good as well.

My absolute favorite bakery. My sweet spot, literally. I go here for every birthday cake and every sweet tooth craving. I cannot begin to single out favorites because there are too many. Check them out, more than once and try a little of everything.

I've never seen so many deserts in my life. The raspberry cheesecake and key lime pie were both perfection. Probably a good thing I don't live anywhere close. Definitely a great spot for an afternoon snack + coffee.

An amazing bakery, they have so many delicious things, it's hard to choose. Our waitress was good about telling us about each item we considered ordering. I was with my whole family. We always try a bite of each other's. I can tell you all were great.

The line around the block made me want to find out for myself what the hype was about. Bought an assortment of desserts to try and was HIGHLY disappointed. Over priced for no good reason. The cake tasted stale and the strawberries in the strawberry shortcake tasted as if they were going bad. Cheese cake was hard as a rock. Not to mention the cake falsely advertised as “tres leches” should be taken off the shelf all together for not having a drop of condensed milk. Will not be returning and if there was a way to get my money back I would.

Martha’s Bakery was the perfect place to go after a fine lunch, it felt like entering to haven. They have every single desserts that you could imagine and at the back they have a little coffee shop which is perfect! OREO CHEESECAKE, I can not even describe it!! I will let you guys decide lol. I recommend this place with my heart, staff super friendly and professional. Place super clean and organized!! Enjoy guys!

Was passing by today and the cakes on display cought my attention. Went inside and my son saw the colorful cupcakes, Got six of them and it was so worth it! Very good and spongy lOl. My favorite was the cappuccino and tiramisu ..Will for sure be going back soon

I've heard a lot positive reviews about the bakery but never stepped into it till today; I was not let down at all. There is a LARGE variety of baked goods. From cookies, cake, cake pops, muffins, etc. If you can think it they most likely have it. I went in the morning and purchased a cake for a coworker and it was really really good, the cake was not dry at all, it didn't feel like they over iced it either. So far I can say that the Oreo cake is my favorite!

Love their tiramisu, oreo cheesecake, strawberry shortcake and everything else I've tried.

Most of things are nice but i eat only Napoleon.....& lately all the time they are burn.....i dont know why they sell those if they over cook.....they think no one cares for Napeleon.....

There’s no denying Martha’s greatness. They are a staple on Ditmars and one of the reasons some come to the area. Their desserts and drinks are all delicious. When I lived on Ditmars it was one of my favorite places to visit. Always good service, always delicious foods.

Small and cute with a red velvet to make your stomach love you forever. Not a fan of cheesecake, but I hear the cheesecake is better than some of the more "famous" restaurant brands out there.

Excellent and high-quality pastries!!! I have been a regular here for a long time and haven't visited for a while and decided my fill of their pastries. I decided to eat in as well as get some to take away too as you can never have enough of their delicious goodies.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at MCB in Ditmars for kindly taking my last minute Mother's Day cake order. They patiently helped me all morning yesterday when my ordering app kept experiencing server issues and took my order after preordering had closed because they remembered who I was. Their bakers are working so hard and their staff are super patient and polite. When I picked up my order today they were all well masked, kept the line in order, and were well organized. I didn't see anyone pull their mask down or have it improperly placed, which made me feel comfortable eating their pastries. I've purchased there for years and it's my family's favorite, it certainly will continue to be that way after the wonderful service they gave me. Thank you for all your hard work!

I’ve been coming to Martha’s ever since a family friend brought us to eat the Very Berry Napoleon years ago. It’s my absolute favorite because of yummy flaky layers and the fruits in the cake! It’s definitely my top recommendation for anyone who wants to have cake for their bday that’s a little outside the box. Also the service is top notch! Our server was very patient and funny, she made the experience at Martha’s even more special. Can’t wait to go back for more cake 🍰🙏🏽☺️

I love the berry tart at this place. Iced oat latte was great too. My boyfriend had a cappuccino which he enjoyed and he loved the berry tart. It would be nice to see a blackberry tart.

The triple chocolate mousse cake is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

The napoleon is delicious. Ooo and so is the cheesecake.

Great place for dessert and hot or cold drinks. Has some great choices in cake slices and pie, also vegan which is awesome a dessert for all type of people. All chocolate cakes or any type of chocolate dessert if good even banana bread pudding yummmy. Rice pudding is good and when fall comes love the pumpkin pie. Overall if you a dessert person this is the place to come to and enjoy with coffee or shakes or tea.

The big cookies were really good, and I was pleasantly surprised by the chocolate covered strawberry! The service started good, with multiple employees checking in to see if we were ready. However, once we were ready to order, most of the staff disappeared, and two people spent much too long assisting the one customer before us. And when she finally came to see what we wanted, she almost seemed annoyed... but the cookies themselves were good.

Ordered raspberry iced tea on the recommendation of the waiter and a red velvet cheese cake. The iced tea was very diluted, ever after stirring it, and the cheese didn't have much texture or creaminess to it at all. The service was great and waiters were very helpful in checking in often. Outdoor seating was the only availability as per the city mandate.

Amazingly delicious! Bought pies cupcakes cookies and banana pudding on Thanksgiving day to my party and the entire family loved it. Cookie tray $15lb was plain in design (would’ve liked rainbow cookies or chocolate dipped cookies in platter but they were busy baking other items)and banana pudding lacked banana slices but they were stocked to the walls with so many pie variations. Strawberry cheesecake slice was $7.50. It was delicious and the cupcakes were a great pre thanksgiving dinner treat. Most of all was the great service! All the staff employees were helpful and pleasant and all smiles though very very busy. Lines were out the door and staff had to climb over each other to get our chosen baked goods but they were all smiles and working diligently to move all the customers through quite quickly. My desserts were a hit (no leftovers). Plus they were open until midnight on Thanksgiving Day! Thanks for the great service extended hours too!

I had a very uncomfortable experience at this bakery today. I walked in with a mask on and was asked to leave without justification. I believe the reason may have been because there were four or five patrons in the store. If this was the case it should have been handled more respectfully. You just lost a customer.

Without doubt, the best bakery in NYC. Highly recommended. The Napoleon is to die for and the chocolate mousse cake is a must. Cupcakes, tarts, pies, anything they make is heaven on earth. As of matter fact, I just decide to stop this review right now and run to their store in Astoria. Damn, I am hooked. Note:The owner is a Prince. The mastermind of the whole experience. The guy is a genius.

What happened to the red velvet cake frosting? Taste very different. It’s thinner and sweater. Bring back the old one that’s thicker and less sweeter.

I went there after the COVID fVgooftQuarantine. It was nicely organized with the social distancing, the lines were long but relatively fast. The establishment is clean, the service behind the counter is 4 stars. Everyone was smiling and pleasant. I bought a strawberry short cake, it was excellent. And I bought bread pudding which was yum yum!
